Item: 35 Description: CD 162 Hemingray (235 / 240) Bright Cobalt Blue. Lots to talk about with this one. Let’s start with the Embossing Index Number. This insulator has almost entirely ROUND drip points. As the Price Guide notes with the (235) EIN, the round drip points are probably an under poured SDP. On this example, some of the drips in the middle are a bit longer, which makes the insulator lean to the side. View 3 shows the round drips. The main thing about this insulator is the bright color. View 4 shows how much more intense it is (on the right) than Item 34 on the left. The condition is tremendous: Grade A-Minus for a couple insignificant nicks on the sharp upper wire ridge. Note: There is some residue that looks like cement in the pin hole. See View 2. After the pictures were taken, I picked at the residue with tweezers and some of it came out easily.
