Item: 306 Description: CD 145 G.T.P. TEL. CO. (080) Light Aqua w/ Amber Swirls in Dome. This is a G.N.W. TEL. CO. blot out where the “N” and the “W” were replaced by a “T” and “P”. The Grand Trunk Pacific Telegraph Company was founded in 1906 to serve Western Canada. It was a different company than the Great Northwestern Telegraph Company which was founded in 1880 to serve Ontario & Manitoba. Apparently, the insulator manufacturer was making insulators for both companies at the same time and modified the molds to fit its needs. View 2 looks down on the dome to better show the amber swirls. Grade B-Plus: Small open bubble on the base; several heavy, but natural, annealing lines in dome, skirt & threads.
