Item: 305 Description: CD 145 Am. Insulator (020 – Three Patent Dates) Blue. Samuel Oakman, a holder of numerous patents related to insulator production, went to work for the American Insulator Company starting in 1883. The threads in this insulator, which fade away towards the top of the pin hole and have a distinctive circle near the top (See View 1), were made in a process patented by Oakman on September 9, 1884. Interestingly, that’s NOT one of the three patent dates on the bottom of this insulator. See View 2. Grade A: Natural & light annealing lines in the skirt.
