Item: 302 Description: CD 133 ER / Brookfield / Cauvet’s / 1865 Dated (200) Light Aqua. This early insulator was made for the Erie Railroad. It has Cauvet’s 1865 patent date for internal threads on the reverse dome. Exceptionally clean insulator for its age. A small area of wear on the wire ridge tells me it has NOT been tumbled, or that would be gone. The embossing is on the weak side with the 1870 date on the rear skirt almost unnoticeable. Grade A-Minus for some light annealing lines in the skirt. Estimate: $40 - $50 Open: $20 Price realized: $40 |
