Item 224

Item: 224 Description: U-1929A B.I.H.C. The initials stand for British Insulated & Helsby Cables. This insulator is a dry spot. The inner skirt is designed to unscrew to provide a dry place for connecting a telephone wire from a house to the line wire. However, I was unable to unscrew this one as it seems wedged in place. The company changed names in 1925, so this insulator is close to, or just over, 100 years old. Grade B: No external damage, but there is flaking at the start of threads. Estimate: $50 - $75 Open: $30 Price realized: $30 |
