Item: 223 Description: U-1573 Taylor & Tunnicliffe. Made in England, these were exported for use in the mining districts of South Africa. Perhaps as many as six dozen U-1540’s and U-1573’s total were found by collector Mike Berridge in 2015 and 2016. We have been selling the last of Mike’s stock on behalf of a collector in Canada. After this auction, there will only be one maroon top U-1540 and four orange top U-1573’s remaining. And then they’ll be gone. This orange top U-1573 is Grade B-Plus for some minor wear near the dome, and a small flake on the upper wire ridge as visible to the left in View 1.
