Item: 201 Description: CD 152 Brookfield (005) Glitters Like Gold. I’m sure that’s not gold in this insulator. But there’s no doubt that this crown jewel is a nugget. I thought I was photographing a hum-drum Brookfield hoop skirt. But when I illuminated this dark insulator with a LED flashlight just in case there was some hidden damage… boy was I surprised. The amber swirls in this insulator appear to be made up of crystals or granules of… well, I don’t know what. But they light up golden yellow and glitter like a neon sign. The heaviest concentration is in the reverse as seen in View 1, View 2 and View 3. There’s less on the front as shown in View 4. View 5 and View 6 show the insulator in normal lighting. Grade A-Minus: Nibbles on the sharp inside edge of the skirt as is typical of MLOB’s. Estimate: $50 - $75 Open: $20 Price realized: $75 |
