Item: 189 Description: Lightning Rod Insulator: Slash Top. Fizzy Aqua. In View 3, the LRI is photographed in an underlit display case to show off the fizz. Identified in Stephen Bobb’s book on LRI’s as a LR 137. The amber streak is faint and fades out in natural light. As visible in View 2, the hole on that end is oblong rather than round. Grade B: Nibbles & small flakes on the top ridges; nibbles and a small flake around the base. Note: It’s difficult to find any LRI in Grade A condition due to their small size and the difficult conditions in which they were used. Estimate: $60 - $80 Open: $1 Price realized: $25 |
