Item: 187 Description: Non-Pin-Type Insulator: Unembossed American Telephone & Telegraph “Bridle Wire” Dry Spot Insulator. These were made for AT&T by the Wheaton Glass Company in the early 1920’s. In use, a wire ran down the center of the insulator providing a dry spot for telephone wiring. This one is clear; but they often turn purple in sunlight. Stands 3.75 inches tall.
