Item: 181 Description: CD 162 Hamilton Glass Co. (010) Light Aqua with Graphite Plume in dome. View 3 is a close up of the graphite. The Hamilton Glass Company went into business in 1864… was taken over by the Diamond Glass Company in 1891… and went out of business in 1898. Hamilton likely made several styles of insulators, but this is the only embossed style. Has nibbles on the sharp inside edge of the base as is typical of MLOB’s. Also has a tiny wire ridge flake and some light annealing lines in the skirt and threads. There are also two very small inner skirt flakes. Because all these things are so minor, I’ve given it a Grade B-Plus . Estimate: $40 - $60 Open: $25 Price realized: $30 |
