Item: 164 Description: Radio Antenna Wire Insulator: This large object is an “Entering Insulator”. Mounted in a ceiling, roof or wall… it allowed the radio antenna signal to be brought into a building. On smaller examples, the glass is often embossed with the Pyrex name on the edges of the bowls. But on this large example, the glass is ground down on the edges. The two halves of glass on this one measure about 9.5 inches long when joined. The total length, from one end of the threaded brass rod to the other, is about 15 inches. View 2 shows the insulator in the position they were generally used.
