Item: 13 Description: U-1269 Early Threadless German Insulator. Although faint, there is an incuse marking on the dome for Porzellan-Manufaktur Nymphenburg. The marking (a shield with a star above it) was used by the company from 1850 to 1890. This insulator was installed at the Donauwoerth train station in the mid-1870’s. Extremely rare with less than ten complete insulators known. All came from a construction pit at that site. Grade R: Repaired. The dome has been re-attached as evident by the discolored line in the wire groove. There is a chip on the inner skirt has been filled as can be seen in View 4. Has two short skirt fractures as shown in View 2. Estimate: $100 - $120 Open: $55 Price realized: $150 |
